Therapy is not about fixing you as if you’re some broken thing. It’s about authentically (re)connecting to yourself. You’ve been through so much in your life, and you are often seen as the strong one, but in this space, we will practice being vulnerable, rehearse being flexible, and learn to be resourceful.

I believe understanding who we are and why we do things is a fundamental part of self-growth. My goal is to help you gain the necessary self-awareness in order for you to continue growing and/or find radical acceptance in the stalemates of your life. Life can be painful and draining. Let this also be a place to check in with your physical, mental, emotional, psychological, and sometimes spiritual well-being. Philosophy of A’Myer Armstrong

You are in the driver’s seat, and your work with A’Myer will be a collaborative effort to identify and build on your strengths. He will help you recognize, analyze, and confront thought patterns, behaviors, and attitudes that no longer serve you. A’Myer uses empathy, exploration, and culturally responsive approaches in his therapeutic practices. He tailors theoretical approaches (which include cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, etc.) to help you reach your goals. His overall focus is to find a treatment plan that best fits your needs. Complimentary 15-minute phone consultations are available to see if he is a ‘fit’ for you.

Personal

Outside of therapy, A’Myer Armstrong enjoys playing music. He has played the electric and acoustic guitar for nearly a decade in blues, jazz, neo-soul, R&B, pop, and rock. A’Myer also engages in the art of dreamwork related to oneironautics. He has been involved with this work for the past six years and enjoys recording and interpreting his dreams.
