Who We Are

West Lake Houston Counseling is a virtual and office-based psychotherapy practice dedicated to providing clients with “Therapy for Sustainable Change.” We are looking for a fully licensed, part-time psychotherapist to join our team. West Lake Houston Counseling is located in the heart of Humble, TX, and is easily accessible from the North Houston, Atascocita, and Kingwood areas.

West Lake Houston Counseling primarily serves clients from diverse backgrounds and traditionally marginalized populations. These populations include women, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community. More specifically, we are looking for a clinician experienced in working with couples. We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic therapist with a clinical background in serving special populations and well-versed in areas of multicultural diversity as reflected in philosophies and clinical practice.

Job Requirements

The clinician in this role will be responsible for conducting initial psychosocial assessments, completing treatment plans, and supporting clients in reaching their stated goals of therapy. Services will take place via our online Telehealth platform, so the ideal candidate is one who is experienced in basic computer tasks such as accessing the internet, reporting to virtual meetings, and word processing for clinical documentation. Participation in monthly team meetings/consultations will be required as part of this role.

Requirements for this position include full licensure in the state of Texas and a minimum of 1-year post-independent license experience. The clinician must have a verifiable background in serving diverse populations and be willing to participate in marketing efforts to increase recognition and presence in the local community.

West Lake Houston Counseling provides a steady stream of referrals. The clinician must be independent, consistent, dependable, and passionate about the work they do. Previous experience working in private practice and enrollment with insurance plans is a plus! Therapist will work under independent contractor status and will provide services on a split fee basis between the contractor and the practice owner.

Clinician Requirements:

  • Current state of Texas license as a LMFT/LPC/LCSW/Psy.D/PhD*

  • Clinical experience with diverse and/or marginalized populations

  • Able to commit to providing a minimum of 12 hours of psychotherapy per week with at least 1-2 late afternoon/early evening days

  • Knowledgeable regarding the ethics of utilizing Telehealth; tech-savvy

  • Able to participate in a monthly team meeting for consultation and professional development

  • Minimum of 1-year post-independent licensure

  • Paneled with Aetna or BCBSTX is a PLUS!
